Stees Dermatology is currently in-network for the following insurance plans:

• Medicare Part B and ALL Medicare Part B supplemental plans
• Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans
• Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage PPO plans
• Blue Cross Blue Shield Medicare Advantage HMO plans (you may require a referral from your primary care provider prior to being seen at the practice)
• Aetna Medicare Advantage for State of Illinois Retirees
• Health Alliance
• Health Alliance Medicare Advantage plans
• Humana Medicare Advantage plans (HMO plans require a referral from your primary provider)
• The Alliance
• United Healthcare (including UMR)
• United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plans
• Railroad Medicare
• Cigna

Aetna Medicare Advantage PPO plans not listed above typically have out of network benefits that are similar to seeing an in-network provider. These plans are welcome at Stees Dermatology.

If you are under age 65 and have an Aetna commercial plan, please know that your services will not likely be covered by Aetna. I am not an in-network physician with Aetna.

You are welcome at Stees Dermatology if you do not have one of the above listed insurance plans. We aim to provide a fair price for out of network and uninsured patients. You may call our reception desk and we will do our best to give you an accurate estimate for the services you require. However, it is impossible to know exactly what you will need over the phone. There will be times where the actual cost of services is more or less than the estimate that is given.

Additionally, most insurance plans have out of network benefits. You can verify your out of network benefits by calling the number on the back of your insurance card. Please provide them with the following information:

If you are an out of network patient, payment for office visits and minor surgical procedures (biopsy, liquid nitrogen, etc.) will be due on the day of service. However, we will submit the claim to your insurance company on your behalf for you to receive your out of network benefits. With medical insurance, your insurance company will typically mail the check for any reimbursement to you personally, not to the practice.
